Lead Game Designer
We're looking for an experienced Lead Game Designer to help shape the future of our live-operated idle/RPG mobile games and bring new titles to life.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of game design, economy design, and product strategy. You'll work closely with the Creative Director and Senior Producer and cross-functional teams to define the game's progression, economy, monetization strategy, and long-term roadmap.
As the design lead, you'll use player behavior, analytics, and experimentation to craft engaging systems that delight players while supporting healthy retention and monetization. You'll be responsible for balancing complex economies, designing new features, and mentoring other designers.

Responsibilities
Product & Feature Design
Define the high-level design vision in collaboration with the Creative DIrector.
Lead the design of new features, progression systems, and metasystems.
Design engaging player experiences that appeal to both casual and core audiences.
Create and maintain clear design documentation, wireframes, specifications, and balancing documentation.
Design intuitive FTUEs, tutorials, and player onboarding experiences.
Continuously improve the late-game experience by extending progression and introducing new content.
Economy Design & Balance
Own the game's economy, including progression, currencies, rewards, and monetization systems.
Design and balance:
Core progression
Live event economies
Shops
Gacha systems
Reward structures
Objectives and quests
Leaderboards
Ad monetization
Premium currency systems
Build and maintain economic models using spreadsheets and simulation tools.
Create scalable balancing frameworks for both core gameplay and LiveOps events.
Identify meaningful resource sinks and progression pinch points while ensuring players have satisfying ways to overcome them.
Leadership
Mentor and support other designers through feedback and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate closely with artists, engineers, producers, and QA.
Help establish best practices for design documentation, balancing, and development workflows.
Contribute to hiring and growing a high-performing design team.
Requirements
Required Experience
5+ years of professional game design experience, including experience on shipped or live-operated mobile titles.
3+ years designing and balancing free-to-play game economies.
Demonstrated success improving retention, engagement, or monetization through feature design or economy balancing.
Experience designing systems for idle, RPG, simulation, or strategy games.
Strong understanding of free-to-play design principles and player psychology.
Experience launching a game from soft launch through global release.
Passion for mobile games and staying current with industry trends.
Technical Skills
Advanced spreadsheet and economic modeling skills.
Experience building progression models and balancing complex game systems.
Strong analytical mindset with experience interpreting player and business data.
Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and KPI analysis.
Ability to communicate design intent through clear documentation and specifications.
Working knowledge of Unity, including familiarity with prefabs, ScriptableObjects, asset management, scene hierarchy, and editor workflows. Able to implement, tune, and validate game content directly in Unity with minimal engineering support.
Leadership & Communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable presenting ideas and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Self-motivated with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Passionate about mentoring teammates and raising the quality bar across the team.
